LOOKING AHEAD:
THE FUTURE OF WINDOW TREATMENTS

From layering to sustainability, four design-forward trends we're seeing now, and what we're doing about them.

Window treatments shape how a space feels, functions, and even performs. At SWAG, we're always thinking ahead. And we’re noticing that clients want more than fabric and fixings, they want thoughtful solutions that align with how they live and work.

Here are four trends we’re already seeing, and if you're planning, renovating or just curious about what's next, read on!

LAYERING IS THE NEW MINIMALISM

We’re seeing a shift away from stark minimalism toward spaces that feel richer, softer and more adaptable. Layered window treatments, think voiles, blinds and curtains working together, offer both flexibility and depth. They allow rooms to shift mood across the day, while bringing in warmth, texture and calm.

How we do it:
At SWAG, we design layering schemes that are entirely made to measure, not just to the window, but to how the room is lived in. Sheers might filter morning light; interlined curtains provide acoustic comfort in the evening. Take a look at some of our recent projects

OUR PROJECTS

EARTH-TONED FABRICS WITH A STORY

Natural, grounded tones are quietly taking over. Clients are favouring warm neutrals: clay, oat, stone, olive, paired with fabrics that feel textured and alive. There’s a growing appreciation for materials that look considered, wear beautifully, and bring a sense of calm to the space.

How we do it:
We work with trusted suppliers across the UK and Europe to source fabrics that are as thoughtful as they are beautiful. We also offer a wide range of colours, textures and finishes across our curtain and blind collections, so every space can feel bespoke.

If you're planning a project, just get in touch, we’ll happily share our full palette and provide a quote based on your space.

THINKING ARCHITECTURALLY

Window treatments are no longer an afterthought, they’re becoming an integral part of the architecture. From full-height folds that elongate a room, to curved tracks that follow the shape of a space, curtains and blinds are now being considered right from the design phase.

How we do it:
Every project at SWAG is fully bespoke, we don’t work in templates or off-the-shelf solutions. Whether it’s a recessed track system, floor-to-ceiling drop, or shaping a treatment around an awkward window, we customise everything to suit the architecture. From planning to installation, our team ensures the details are built into the design, not added on afterwards.

HOW WE DO

CONSCIOUS CHOICES, BUILT TO LAST

More and more clients are asking where things come from, how they’re made, and what impact they have over time. It’s not just about style anymore, it’s about making considered decisions that feel as good as they look.

How we do it:
As part of AGC, a certified B Corp™, we’re proud to be working in a more responsible way. That includes offering eco-friendly and recycled fabric options, partnering with ethical mills, and keeping production local wherever we can.
While no process is perfect, we believe in doing better where it counts. Our curtains and blinds are made to order, not mass-produced, which means less waste and longer-lasting results. We’ll always be transparent about what we offer, and help you make the greenest choices available for your space.

MORE ABOUT OUR RESPONSIBILITY

Whether you’re renovating your whole home or just need help with one beautiful bay window, we’re here to make the process smooth, personal, and actually enjoyable.
